We are quickly approaching warmer temps and are anxious to get houseplants and garden plants outside for the summer. However, you need to err on the side of caution before moving your plants outside for summer. The hardening off process can seem daunting, but have no fear, I am hear to help. Here’s why you want to move your plants outside with caution when it comes to acclimating your plants.

- Potential Frost and freezes.
- Not past your frost-free date.
- You haven’t acclimated your plants to the sun.
Plants that have spent any significant amount of time protected inside can be scorched by the sun if put outside without protection and not properly acclimated.
Take your time and don’t rush to put your plants outside. Make sure your temperatures are stable before taking your plant babies outside to the garden.
If you’ve purchased plants from a garden center, then you can move them immediately to their respective areas in your garden.
