Hey Gardeners!
Blooming shrubs are amazing! They add so much to the garden. They can add structure, color, fruit, fragrance, and all-season interest! There are so many different kinds of shrubs to suit your needs. In this post, I’m going to share with you 5 of the best blooming shrubs to use in your garden.
Rhododendrons are great shrubs to add to your garden! They perform well in partial shade and have an array of blooms to choose from. What’s even more cool is that they are evergreen and hold their foliage throughout winter. If you take good care of them, they can grow quite large and live for years and years. Definitely a blooming shrub you need to have in your garden.

Next up is the Azalea, which is in the same family as the Rhododendron but vary slightly in foliage and bloom shapes. Care for the Azalea will be nearly the same depending on the variety so be sure to read your plant tags. Azalea’s are a gorgeous shrub with beautiful blooms.

Forsythia planted in mass is a stunner for spring blooms! Bright yellow blooms grab your eye as you cross paths with this gorgeous shrub.

Lilacs are a staple in the garden. They bloom so beautifully and their fragrance wafts through the air as the wind blows. Definitely a shrub you need to have in your garden!

The last but most obvious shrub every garden needs are Hydrangeas! Hydrangeas are a long time favorite of many gardeners because of their blooms. They come in so many different varieties you are sure to find one that fits your garden. This is a blooming shrub you need to grow all over your garden.

Now that I’m thinking about it, there is one more shrub I want to add to the list! Butterfly bushes! I have them all over my garden and just like their name butterflies love them. You can grow them in dwarf sizes or standard sizes and all are gorgeous!

Happy Gardening!
